The AGSLPGiS is a liquefied petroleum gas semiconductor detector and is typically used as a standalone unit or in conjunction with an AGS controller. The detector should be mounted in accordance with certain considerations. Do not position next to burners, heaters or ovens where temperatures above the room ambient may be experienced. It is, if possible, better to mount the sensors on the opposite wall. This is, of course, dependent on the size of the protected area. LPG is heavier than air and will therefore drop, meaning the gas sensor should be mounted 12 inches from the floor of the protected area. The LPG detectors at detection will go into alarm at 10% of the low explosion level. When connected to an AGS controller, this can be used to trigger the isolation of the power supply to a solenoid valve and as such isolation of the gas supply. This can then be rectified by resolving the leak, allowing the sensor head to clear and resetting the attached AGS panel and detector.
